0 comments Friday, September 3, 2010

I just came from the Pancakes & Booze Art Show in Atlanta. It had a pretty good turn out. Of course, there were free pancakes. And they were alot of artist there to showcase their work. The art scene in Atlanta is emerging and evolving. Its great to see other local artist getting recognition. Check out the pics.

Also check out Wanda King. She had work displayed and a vending booth tonight. She was hustlin' overtime

My Creative Post for September. IM BACK!

0 comments Thursday, September 2, 2010
August was a disappointing month for posting. But I was busy. I got married to the love of my life. The day was sort of a climatic happy ending to the roller coaster year we've had. Moving into a house and planning a wedding can be time consuming. Nonetheless, we did it and we can finally relax and get back to our normal way of life. And I can start creating again.

"Untitled" is a visual freestyle. It doesn't have a particular theme. I just wanted to draw something cool. It can also be described as a "visual exercise" The composition and the relationships between each element is obvious. I hope you guys are feeling it.

The One MusicFest...Behind the Scenes

0 comments Sunday, August 1, 2010

Yesterday, I was a volunteer to be a part of the One MusicFest in downtown Atlanta. The festival included musical performances by Common, De La Soul, Geoapele, and many more. It was a "decent" turn-out from the city especially later in the day.

The festival also included an art-walk, which was something I was looking forward to. However, I expected to see more artist especially those listed on the website. I'm not sure whether that was due to them just not showing up or the fee to set-up and display work. In addition to some of the vending prices, the fee for the VIP was ridiclous. I guess someone has to make a profit. And if you have the cash, spend it.

Overall, I didn't get a chance to stay for Common. I was hungry and the chips and sodas the promoters was providing held me down temporarily. Chips and sodas are junkfood not food. I hope the organizers of this event remember that next time. Especially if they want this to be a staple event for years to come. Stop being cheap! But I had a good time just talking and networking with ATLiens. Who knows! I might be able to display something next year.

See Ya in September!

Everything Went Well!

Sorry for the delay. The event at the Blue Frog Cantina went well. It was great to see people looking at my work and giving valuable feedback. Still don't know whether it was just them being intoxicated or actually feeling the art. But it was still a positive vibe at the event. It was a step towards getting my brand out there. Some artist are lucky. They easily get recognized while others struggle. That's just the way things are.

My Creative Post for July. Drop Da Beat!

0 comments Friday, July 2, 2010

Hello everyone,
I can't believe that it is already July and this weekend my mother is coming to visit for the holiday. This would be her first time being here and she got a good deal on plane tickets. This should be a good weekend.

Later this month, I will participate in an event called "The Smudge" at the Blue Frog Cantina. It will be an album release party for local Hip-Hop Artist, Quanstar. I will be selling prints for $5. Also I will be designing the event poster. It should be fun. Good hip hop music + Great Art + Drinks = Good Times. I actually set a goal to sell atleast 5 prints. Although I won't be sad or broken if this doesnt happen, it was just a benchmark I set for myself.

So, the creative post for this month draws inspiration from the female MC. This pays homage to the female MCs who paved the way for female artist of today. Although hip hop culture is dominated by men, It is always nice to see female rapper to hold her own. Check out the art and the flyer and have a happy 4th everyone!

Much to Blog About Nothing!

0 comments Tuesday, May 25, 2010
So, I haven't post anything in the last couple of weeks. There has not been anything that has caught my interest. And I must admit that I have lost a bit of interest in this blog, lately. It could be a number of reasons. Don't want to sound pathetic, but I am frustrated on how this blog is doing so far. I find myself constantly working towards solutions to promote this and my artwork. Still to this day, I dont know if I am making an impact or if this blog even comes up in Google.

Oh it does comes up at google. Yay! It could just be my frustrations getting the best of me. Maybe I just need a break from my creative endeavors. Being creative is sort of a "double-edged" sword. You can be harshly criticized for the creativity. Or you can be praised for your creative genius.
Quiting is not in my vocabulary, but I think it is time for a break.
